Netflix | company announces global subscription price reduction, Brazil not participating

With many users threatening to cancel their accounts following the ban on password sharing, the Netflix announced that it will apply a global reduction in the price of its subscription plans. The measure, however, will not be valid for Brazil.
In a statement, a company representative said the move is a way to "improve the experience of our subscribers"(via The Wrap).
The change in prices will vary from country to country, with some areas having a cut of up to 50% in the cost of the basic plan and 43% in the plan premium. In total, the change will affect 5% of Netflix around the world.
Netflix's press office in Brazil informed that the reduction will not be applied here and that "plan prices are, and always have been, country-specific“.
